Rescued children sent to Odisha

Seventy-four of the 141 children from Odisha, who were rescued from a private home ‘Home of Hope’ in Peelamedu following hospitalisation of 34 other children due to suspected food poisoning, were sent to Odisha on Tuesday. Officials rescued 253 children from the home: 141 from Odisha, 12 from Tamil Nadu, nine from Nagaland, 31 from Bihar, 44 from Jharkhand and 16 from Andhra Pradesh.

The children went by a separate coach on the Alleppey — Dhanbad Express, with police security. Two officials from Social Welfare Department accompanied the children. Rotary Clubs provided food for the children.
