E. Senthil, Councillor, alleged that his half-brother E. Anandan (DMK) had forged the death certificate of his mother and a legal heir certificate to claim the pension benefits due to his father G. Elango, a former DMK MLA.

In his petition to District Collector Archana Patnaik on Monday he said that a year after his mother Vasundhara’s death on June 16, 2000, E. Anandan, born to his father Elango’s companion Saraswathi, had obtained a cremation certificate from the Coimbatore Corporation’s Chokkampudur crematorium. In the cremation certificate, Mr. Anandan had forged his signature, Mr Senthil alleged and added that using the forged cremation certificate the former had managed to get a non-availability certificate from the corporation in Vasundhara’s name.

He had forged his signature in the application for a legal heir certificate.

He had come to know the fraud and forgery of only now, said Mr. Senthil.

He sought a probe into the identity of the body that was cremated on June 16, 2001. The whole forgery and fraud was for claiming his father Elango’s pension, he said.
