A 12-year-old school student committed suicide at his residence in Seeranaickenpalayam on Saturday. The R.S. Puram police said that the boy resorted to the extreme step by hanging at his residence when his mother was away. The boy's father died a few years ago due to illness. The police said that the boy was a class VII student of a private school near Ramnagar. His brother is also a student of the school. The police have registered a case and are investigating to ascertain the reason for the suicide.
