Rain continues to lash city

Though not a torrential downpour, mild and sharp showers continued lashing the city and its suburbs on Thursday. District witnessed a total rainfall of 133.70 mm and an average rainfall of 11.14 mm.

Rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours that ended at 8.30 a.m. on Friday is as follows: Airport Peelamedu 17 mm, Mettuppalayam 10.10, Pollachi 10, Sulur 11.20, TNAU 19, Chinnakallar 19, Chincona 6, Valparai PAP 7, Valparai Taluk 8, and Coimbatore South 17.40 mm.

Sholayar reservoir under the Parambikulam – Aliyar Project (PAP) had a storage of 160.74 ft as against the Full Reservoir Level of 160 ft and rainfall was 9 mm. Parambikulam had a storage of 70.44 ft as against the FRL of 72 ft and rainfall was 9 mm, Aliyar dam had a storage of 119.80 ft as against the FRL of 120 ft and rainfall was 10.4. Thirumurthy dam had 42.79 ft storage as against the FRL of 60 ft and the rainfall was 11 mm. Amaravathy dam had a storage of 65 ft as against the FRL of 90 ft and rainfall was 30. Upper Nirar recorded 19 mm, Lower Niarar 6 and Upper Aliyar 15.
