Raids against misuse of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders

As many as 16 domestic Liquefied PetroleumGas (LPG) cylinders have been seized on Wednesday during a raid conducted by the officials Indane.

The raids were conducted following information that domestic LPG cylinders were being misused for commercial purpose.

Deputy Managers of Indane, Ramya Nair and N. Geetha along with special teams raided eateries, bakeries, mess and hotels in Annur, Koil Palayam, Sathyamangalam Road from Coimbatore to Annur, Atheyampalayam, Tatabad, Sivananda Colony, Rathnapuri, Puliakulam, Ramanathapuram and Singanallur.

The officials said that using domestic LPG cylinders is an offence and in the event of any accident the affected would go without insurance compensation.

Similarly, any individual found to be diverting domestic cylinders for commercial purposes would be dealt with severely as per law and their connections would be terminated.

Warning

Dealers/distributors and delivery boys if found colluding in diversion of subsidised domestic cylinders would be dealt with severely.
