Workers of a pump manufacturing unit have complained to the district administration that their employer is adopting a vindictive approach after they formed a union.
In a petition to the administration during the weekly grievances redress meeting, the workers said that they formed the union after the employer tried to impose contract labour system on them.
The employer placed 10 workers under suspension 10 months ago. He had placed another worker who sustained injury inside the factory premises too under suspension. The employer had not sent his representative to appear before the Assistant Commissioner of Labour to participate in the 21 cases the workers had filed.
He had not disbursed bonus at 8.33 per cent.
He was not ready to enter into wage revision talks with workers and had arbitrarily stopped the education assistance.
The workers had listed a few more grievances and said that the administration should come to the rescue of the workers by asking the pump manufacturer to prove all benefits that the workers were eligible for.
