Aram Foundation and Enaindha Karangal, a non-government organisation, have launched the ‘Happy Child and Awareness and Self Defence’ project for tribal children in Anaikatti and other areas. Member of Parliament, Coimbatore, P.R. Natarajan inaugurated the project a couple of days ago.

According to a release from the organisers, they would implement the project in tribal schools in Anaikatti, Dhamanur, Kondanur and Jambukandy. They would educate the girls on good touch and bad touch, train them in self defence techniques and provide them inputs to gain confidence. As part of the programme, the organisers would deal exclusively with students who were school dropouts and had irregular attendance.

They would also help the students evaluate themselves through self-evaluation booklets, the release adds.
