A probe is underway in a case of alleged medical negligence of a seven-year-old child, one of whose fingers on the left hand became paralysed.
In a complaint that was submitted to Police Commissioner Amaresh Pujari, the child's mother Shalaja of Sivananda Colony said that her daughter Insha Moll had slipped in the school and was taken to a private hospital on July 26. But after the treatment, the child's finger turned blue and became paralysed.
Mr. Pujari asked the parent to admit the child to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on August 10 and referred the case to a panel of doctors.
He also requested the hospital authorities to analyse the case. Based on the report, the law will take its course, the Commissioner said.
