Prisoner dies in hospital

Shanmugam (53) of Kozhinjampara in Palakkad District of Kerala, arrested in connection with a theft at the Coimbatore Railway Junction, died at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Thursday night. He was arrested by the railway police on December 10 and lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison. He fell ill on December 29 and was admitted to the hospital. He was diagnosed of suspected brain tumour. He died at the hospital on Thursday and a Revenue Divisional Officer inquiry is on .
