President arrives for Tamil meet

President Pratibha Patil arrived at Coimbatore Airport by a special aircraft on Tuesday night to take part in the inauguration of the World Classical Tamil Conference on Wednesday morning and to witness the procession of floats in the evening.

The President was accorded a reception at the airport by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and a host of Union Ministers and State Ministers, besides officials. The President, after a night halt at Circuit House, would reach CODISSIA in the morning to inaugurate the conference in the presence of the Chief Minister.

Later in the evening, the President, along with the Chief Minister, will witness the procession of floats from a specially erected dais at the Coimbatore College compound.
