The Bharatiya Janata Party has extended its support to the protest by micro industries in Coimbatore on October 27.

According to a release from the party, Coimbatore experienced almost 18 hours of power cut a day. This had hit industrial activities. The units were unable to complete the orders and pay the workers.

Many might not be able to pay bonus to the workers for Deepavali this year. The long hours of power cut had hit all sections of the society.

The micro industries had announced that they would stop production for a day on October 27 in the district. The party extended its support to the protest and its supporters (trade and industry) would down shutters on October 27.
