The following have been deputed as poll observers for Coimbatore and Pollachi Lok Sabha constituencies:
Coimbatore: Rajendra Mohan Srivastava is the general observer. Padala Mohan Rao will be in charge of Palladam, Sulur, and Singanallur Assembly segments. P. Imtiyaz Khan will be in charge of Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore North, and Coimbatore South constituencies.
Pollachi: Raajiv Yadhuvanshi is the general observer. Ranjan Prakash will be the expenditure observer for Thondamuthur, Kinathukkadavu, and Pollachi assembly segments. Ved Prakash Singh will be in charge of Valparai, Udumalpet, and Madathukulam Assembly segments.
District Election Officer Archana Patnaik told reporters here on Monday that they will reach their respective destinations once the notification was brought out.
Chennai-based NGOs Youth Exnora International, Voice for Justice, Public Voice, and Federation for Electoral Integrity would launch programmes for systematic voters’ education and electoral participation.
Officials would try their best to increase the voting percentage in both the constituencies, Ms. Patnaik said. Discussions would be held with those who have announced to boycott polls.
Ms. Patnaik said that 74,996 forms were received for inclusion of names on March 25 and during the first week of April.
Supplementary rolls would be released after scrutiny of the forms.
As on date 2,894 control units, and 4,542 ballot units of electronic voting machines had been checked by engineers. Polling time would be from 7am to 6pm.

Of the 76 complaints received on the toll free number, 65 were found to be genuine. Of the 10 complaints received through e-mail, 10 were found to be genuine.
Officials had so far removed 719 graffiti, posters, banners, and other materials from public places. From private places, 86 poll publicity materials were removed.
Officials had so far seized Rs. 71,03,444 from both the constituencies.
Nearly 50 per cent of the amount had been returned after owners produced relevant documents. Of the Rs .27 lakh deposited in the treasury, Rs. 20 lakh had been referred to Income Tax Department.
When officials check people, they were free to take photographs of officials using mobile phones, said Ms. Patnaik.
