The entire police force of Salem city and the Salem rural district paid respects to the memory of the martyrs at the Police Commemoration Day here on Saturday.

K. Shankar, City Police Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioners of Police – G. Subbulakshmi (law and order), and P. Thangadurai (crime and traffic) – led the city police and laid wreaths at the memorial at the armed reserve police ground. Senthil Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Salem Range, and P. Rajan, Superintendent of Police, led the rural district police who laid the wreaths at the memorial.

Officers of other ranks, too, laid wreaths at the memorial.

Ara Arularasu, Superintendent of Police, Senthil, Additional Superintendent of Police, and other officers and men laid wreaths at the police martyrs memorial at the armed reserve police ground on Saturday.
