Planting of saplings mark Income Tax Day

The Income Tax department officials planted 157 saplings of various drought tolerant plant species on the Government Higher Secondary School premises at Anupparapalyam near here recently to commemorate the 157th Income Tax Day.

The project was supported by Vetry, an NGO, and also the Parent Teachers Association of the Anupparpalayam Government school.

“The Vetry will take the responsibility of maintaining the 157 trees for two years”, said Vetry president T. R. Sivaram.

Interaction

Joint Commissioners of Income Tax Veni Raj and Narendra Kumar Naik also held an interaction with students in which the importance of tax compliance was explained.

Tirupur Exporters Association president Raja Shanmugam and people from different walks of life joined the Income Tax officials to plant the saplings.
