In order to redress the grievances of the people regarding the Public Distribution System (PDS), the District Collector P. Umanath has announced that grievance day would be conducted at six places on Friday (April 9) at 10 a.m.

The grievance meetings will be conducted at Mariamman Koil in Vellanaipatti in SS Kulam area, Sidhi Vinayakar Koil in Flower Market area (ward 48), Panchayat Union office on Seeliyur – Kalmpalayam area in Mettuppalayam, Thimmankuthu Panchayat union office in Pollachi taluk, Taluk office in Old Valparai, and Sulthanpet Panchayat Union office in Sulur.

The grievance meetings would be presided over by officers in the rank of Deputy Collectors, Assistant Collectors, Revenue Divisional Officers and Sub-Collectors.

People residing in these respective areas could voice their grievances relating to PDS cards, address change in the cards, seeking fresh PDS family cards and complaints regarding irregularities in supply could be voiced at the meetings.

Dr.Umanath also urged the elected representatives and consumer organisations and Non-Governmental organisations to make use of this opportunity.
