The police want Coimbatore Corporation to introduce pay-and-park system along roads in the city.
The traffic police are identifying congested stretches and places where people gather in strength.
After identifying such roads a proposal will be submiteted to the Corporation to introduce the pay-and-park system. A meeting held at the City Police office here, officials were of the opinion that parking of vehicles can be regulated under the system parking rules violations can be easily prevented.
The system will help reduce vehicle thefts too, police officers said.
