Palliative cancer care home for patients

The foundation for a palliative cancer care home for patients was jointly laid by SNR Sons Charitable Trust and the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Satellite at Sri Ramakrishna Rural Health Centre at Pachapalayam near Perur, recently.

According to a release, Rotary Club approached the trust to build the cancer care home for terminally ill patients. The home will be built on an area of 3,500 sq.ft. at an estimate Rs. One crore and it will be borne by SNR Sons Charitable Trust and Rotary Club. Dr.Guhan of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Oncology and Research said that there was an increase in the number of terminally ill patients day by day.

Governor of Rotary International District 3201 Kamlesh V. Raheja laid the foundation stone in the presence of managing trustee of the trust R. Vijayakumhar, joint managing trustee D. Lakshminarayanasamy, chief executive officer Ramkumar and dean of the Ramakrishna Hospital Dr. Sukumaran, joint managing trustee and president of the club Sunku Radesh Kumar.
