Overturned gas tanker causes flutter

June 22, 2010 06:37 pm | Updated 06:37 pm IST - Coimbatore:

A gas-laden tanker that fell on its sides at Vadakkipalayam on Coimbatore – Pollachi road caused flutter from late night of Sunday.

The tanker was coming from Mangalore to Ilayankudi. Following a panic on the likely risk of gas leak, police diverted the traffic via Negamam and Mahalingapuram. Efforts to transfer the gas to another tanker failed.

On Monday morning, the officials managed to transfer the gas to another tanker and eliminated the risk factor.
