The Rural Police on Sunday arrested B. Rangarao (60) of Appanaickenpalayam, an associate of Madanagopal, on the charge of cheating.
The police said Rangarao was into real estate business along with Madanagopal, brother of DMK functionary E. Anandan (district panchayat vice-chairman, who is in judicial custody in three cases of cheating). Rangarao was involved in forging documents and selling lands, the police said. Based on a complaint from Ranganathan of Kempatty Colony, the police have registered a case and arrested the accused.
