One killed in accident

One person was killed and three sustained injuries when a lorry veered off the road at Alamaramedu, near Thdagam, on Monday night.

The accident occurred when the driver tried to negotiate to avoid hitting a stray dog.

An occupant of the lorry Marudhachalam of Colonypudur was killed while the workers Palanisamy , Marudhachalam and Murugan sustained injuries.

Man electrocuted

Prabhakaran (27), working in a private firm in Aavarampalayam, was electrocuted when he tried to touch a live wire with an iron road.

It was learnt that Prabhakaran, who was on the first floor, threw his motorcycle key to his friend to remove the motorcycle hindering free flow of traffic.

The key thrown by Prabhakaran landed on a live wire. The victim made an attempt to shake the line to ensure that the key falls down.

Prabhakaran used an iron rod resulting in electrocution.

He was declared dead on reaching the hospital.

Woman dies

Palaniammal of Bellathy, near Mettuppalayam, died when she fell off a bus after the driver applied sudden brake to avoid an oncoming vehicle.

Investigations are on.
