Coimbatore city would henceforth get once-in-five-day water supply, Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani said here on Friday. The Coimbatore Corporation now supplies water only once in 15 days.

Addressing reporters at the Coimbatore Collectorate after holding a review meeting with officials, he said following good rain and their impact on reservoirs, the TWAD Board would supply 80 million litres a day to the city and this would help people get drinking water once in five days. The residents should, however, continue to use water judiciously. The birth centenary celebrations of AIADMK party founder M.G. Ramachandran would be held on December 3, he said.
