Hundreds of nursing students displayed placards describing the ill-effects of substance-addiction during the course of a rally they took out on Sunday to observe International Day against Drug Abuse.

The rally flagged off by District Collector S. Prabakar passed through Mettur Road and Brough Road before ending at Taluk Office. About 800 students of Nandha, J.K.K.N, Dhanvanthiri, Anbu, Annai, JKK, and Velalar Nursing Colleges took part in the rally that also had the participation of the Deputy Director of Health Services P. Balusamy, Assistant Commissioner - Excise P. Suresh, Deputy Superintendent of Police In-Charge Rajakumar and senior officials. Subsequently a two-wheeler rally was also taken out.

The students of District Sports Hostel took part in a Mini Marathon covering Government Hospital, Surampatti Four Roads, Railway Junction and Kalai Maadu Junction before reaching Erode RDO office.
