The two boys aged below 21 years were taken to the Borstal at Pollachi. The others were lodged in prison.

Based on a complaint lodged by Sakthi Prakash, the police registered a case against four teenagers aged between 16 and 18 years under Sections 294B, 323 and 506(i) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

They were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board in Coimbatore for further course of action.

Police sources said that on Tuesday and Wednesday they tried pacifying the groups and warned to amicably resolve the dispute, however the youth continued to quarrel even at the police station and were not ready to calm down. This resulted in registering cases against them.
