A group of 36 students pursuing postgraduate diploma course in Apparel Merchandising and Management at NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion here have come out a huge collection of trendy women’s wear for the ongoing Deepavali season.

“We have incorporated new designs and fashions on the traditional saris and other dresses worn during the festivities, and thereby, catering to the tastes of the present generation of revellers”, said G. Hemalatha, one of the students.

On Monday, the students held an exhibition of the apparels developed by them on the institution premises and offered the products for sale at prices much lower than the market rates.

Lehenga collections and Kalamkari items made of hand-painted/block printed textiles were some of the attractions on display.

Products were displayed under a total of 20 types of clothing.
