New DCP assumes office

T. Senthil Kumar assumed office on Saturday as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), Coimbatore City. He replaces S. Nizamuddin who had been posted as Superintendent of Police, Udhagamandalam.

Mr. Kumar is a 2001 batch IPS officer. He had served as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Jayamkondam, Superintendent of Police in Tuticorin and Virudhunagar and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) – South Chennai City.

He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) – Madurai City.

Crime prevention

Mr. Kumar told reporters that crime prevention would be given top priority and all efforts would be taken to improve the traffic system in the city.
