It began with 20 Turkey belly dancers pirouetting. But that was not the only attraction.

There were many more to be lapped up by the eager audience at Hindustan College of Arts and Science here on Friday.

The occasion was the audio release of director Shankar's Nanban, and the tune to which the belly dancers grooved was choreographed by Farah Khan in the movie.

It was a fun-filled and fan-filled event with actors Sathyaraj, Prabhu and Sathyan regaling the audience with their unique brand of humour, prodded on by emcee Mirchi Shiva.

Admirers of actors Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth lapped it all up at the venue.

There was another round of dancing by the Turkey belles to the tune of ‘Askku Laska' choreographed by Shobi. Scenes of making of the movie were shown to the joy of the eager audience.

Actors Jiiva, Srikanth, S.J. Suryah and lyricists Na. Muthukumar and Viveka shared their experiences. Actor Vijay sang a few lines of the 16-language ‘Askku Laska' song penned by Madan Karky.

Speaking about the movie, director Shankar explained what motivated him to remake the Hindi original in Tamil.

“The film made a deep impact on me. I wanted to share this with Tamil audience. If they like the movie, credit has to go to director Rajkumar Hirani. There is no ‘Endhiran' in this movie, so come without expectations to just enjoy the Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots', he said.

Coimbatoreans got a glimpse of a 3-minute trailer of the movie before the grand 3D launch of the movie audio to the tune of “En frienda pole yaaru machan” composed by music director Harris Jayaraj.

The CD, released by S.A. Chandrasekar, was received by actor Prabhu in the presence of the film's cast.
