Naam Tamizhar Katchi founder Seeman was among the 143 members arrested for blocking the Coimbatore - Palakkad Road near Kakkachavadi here on Wednesday.

They were protesting against the recent move by Public Works Department of Kerala to block a pipeline that supplied water to the Siruvani Dam.

Major effect They raised slogans against the Kerala Government and said that the move would have a major effect in the supply of drinking water to Coimbatore.

The members warned the government of blocking all the roads to Kerala and preventing the supply of food products and other items to the State if it failed to reverse the decision.

The party also urged the Tamil Nadu Government to take up the issue with their Kerala counterparts and resolve it expeditiously.
