When more than 35 school students put pen to paper to being alive the theme of “Engineering Interventions for Profitable Agriculture” at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, the result was not only a profusion of colours, but also viable solutions.
Students creatively depicted food and agriculture, pollution-free atmosphere, water conservation, renewable energy and global warming. Students from Standards VI to XII from 15 schools in Coimbatore participated.
The painting competition was organised by the Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute of TNAU as part of the all-India seminar on the above topic. The seminar is scheduled to be held on September 11 and 12 at the university.
The seminar will focus on farm mechanisation, precision farming, water harvesting, water management, soil conservation and management, bio-energy, environment and pollution, food processing and value addition. There will also be invited talks from industry and academia, presentations of technical papers, posters, models and exhibitions.
