The Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and the Mukurthi National Park near here will be closed from April 1. Stating this in a press note issued Wednesday, the Field Director of the Reserve Rajiv K. Srivastava said that the Chief Wildlife Warden R. Sunderraju has issued a directive to close the reserve and the park on account of the extremely dry conditions and the chances of bush fires breaking out.

They will be closed till April 30 or till the situation improves.
