The Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) will only support that political party which promises to implement the recommendations of the Ranganath Mishra Committee.
According to M.H. Jawahiruallah, the party leader and Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Ramanathapuram, the party was keen on getting reservation for Muslims.
Many political parties had promised so many things for the members of the minority community but those had remained only promises.
In the ensuing 2014 general elections, the party was keen on supporting that party which promises reservation for Muslims, he reiterated.
He was speaking at the party’s conference, ‘Makkal Vazhvurimai Manadu’, here on Sunday.
He said that the party also sought complete prohibition, a transparent administration, ban on foreign investment in retail trade and continuous power supply for local industries.
Mr. Jawahiruallah added that the party had been fighting for reservation for Muslims in the State and had raised the issue in the Assembly.
It would continue to do so until the demands were met, he said.
