Minor fire

A minor fire broke out in a commercial building near the Gandhipuram Town Bus Stand here on Sunday. The Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services deployed two tenders from the South Station and one from the North Station. According to officials, the fire broke out at a storage room used to store discarded electronic items and accessories besides plastic and paper wastes. It is suspected that a short-circuit in the room had caused the fire. The entire building was evacuated and the fire was brought under control within 30 minutes.
