MCA counselling begins at GCT

The counselling session will go on till July 28

Counselling for admission to the Master of Computer Application course in colleges across the State began at the Government College of Technology here on Monday.

According to sources, the first of the counselling saw nine candidates with disability appear for the counselling process. The College administration, which was co-ordinating the admissions for the entire State, had sent call letters to 14 differently abled candidates.

The candidates who got allotment orders chose to study in Anna University, PSG College of Technology, SSN College of Engineering, Chennai, and in colleges in Karaikudi, Sivakasi, Tiruvannamalai and a few other places. The College Principal V. Lakshmi Prabha inaugurated the counselling session.

On Tuesday, the College will open the counselling session for candidates in four sessions. Candidates ranked one to 448 will appear the counselling, which will end by 6 p.m.

The MCA counselling goes on till July 28. Thereafter, the College will start the counselling for admission to the Master of Business Administration course in colleges across the State.

The MBA counselling will end on August 14. In all, there are 3,844 MCA seats and 9,502 MBA seats for the takers.

The TANCET examination for admission to the two courses was conducted on March 22 and 23.
