Mayor inspects mass cleaning drive

Mayor S.M. Velusamy on Monday inspected the mass cleaning drive the Coimbatore Corporation’s conservancy workers conducted in Ward 31. According to a release, the workers had been carrying out the cleaning operations in Saravanampatty Housing Unit, Poonthottam and neighbouring areas. He instructed the officers to ask the conservancy workers to clean the drains in the Tamil Nadu Housing Unit.

The release also says that the Mayor inaugurated the campaign to plant saplings on reserve sites in and around Saravanampatty. He asked the officials to ensure that the rain water did not stagnate in the area.

The area Councillor P. Mariselvan and officials accompanied the Mayor.
