Three special teams have been formed by the Coimbatore District Police to nab a 26-year-old autorickshaw driver of Pollachi who allegedly murdered his ex-girlfriend at her home on Thursday. The Pollachi East Police are investigating.

The police said that the victim, C. Supriya (22) of Gandhipuram in Sooleswaranpatti near Pollachi, was pursuing M.Com through distance education.

It is said that she was in love with Thangadurai a cargo autorickshaw driver of Jothi Nagar ‘A’ Colony.

Police sources said that the two had a dispute and Supriya lodged a complaint with the All Woman Police in Pollachi, on November 2, alleging that he was harassing her.

The police had warned him not to disturb her.

It is learnt that on Thursday, Thangadurai went to her house and questioned her for avoiding him.

In a sudden turn of events, he stabbed Supriya in the presence of her mother C. Selvi (43), brother C. Santhosh (18) and another relative and fled from the place. Supriya was rushed to the Pollachi Government Hospital. But she died on the way.
