Man killed in elephant attack inside forest

An unidentified person was killed by an elephant inside the reserve forest here on Monday.

He was estimated to be around 32 years old. This is the fourth fatality in elephant attacks in Coimbatore this year.

According to Forest Department officials, the body was discovered around 9am near a temple at Poondi in Booluvampatti Range by a priest, who alerted the authorities.

It was estimated that the attack might have taken place around 6pm.

Post-mortem

The body has been sent for post-mortem to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
