Man found dead with injuries

Udhayakumar (52), a real estate businessman, was found dead with injuries at his residence in Vadavalli, during the late hours of Friday. The Vadavalli Police suspect that he could have been strangulated. A case was registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the police, the victim was suffering from epilepsy for seven years. “It is learnt that about three weeks ago his friend Anburaj brought two persons from Bodi in Theni District to apply oil massage and see if Udhayakumar can be cured. On Friday evening also the two men came to Udhayakumar’s house,” the police said.

The police added that his wife Gowri was running a beauty parlour. “Inquiries revealed that she tried calling her husband over the cellular phone. On finding that he was not responding even after repeated calls, she called her neighbour who found that Udhayakumar was lying with injuries”, the police added.

“He was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared dead,” the police said.

The police said that valuables were also stolen from the house.
