Man arrested for practising two-tumbler system

A man was arrested for practising two-tumbler system at Marandhahalli here on Tuesday.

The accused, Maalai Murasu, was distributing tea in two different tumblers, one for Caste Hindus and the other for Dalits.

The arrest comes three days after similar crackdown on some villages in Palacode where such practice was detected.

On Saturday, the police had arrested six persons including four women.

Remanded

The accused was remanded under the Protection of Civil Rights Act.
