Man arrested for murdering brother

The Bazaar Street Police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his brother and trying to make it appear that the victim died after accidentally slipping into a ditch. According to police, M. Nagaraj (27) of Gandhi Nagar in South Ukkadam in an inebriated mood damaged the house where he lived with his parents. The police said that the parents informed Nagaraj’s brother M. Selvendran (22), a construction worker at Namakkal. According to the police, Selvendran rushed here and attacked his brother on his head with a sharp weapon while he was asleep on the terrace.

Police sources said that Selvendran then dragged Nagaraj and pushed him into a ditch near the house. People of the locality who saw Nagaraj in the morning rushed him to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, where he died. A post-mortem report revealed that Nagaraj was attacked with a weapon. Police arrested Selvendran.
