Maharashtra govt. uses Amrita software to train teachers

The Maharashtra State Council for Education Research and Training has used ‘A-VIEW (Amrita Virtual Interactive E-learning World) software to train 35,000 school teachers, said a release from the Amrita University. The Council trained the teachers at over 500 centres across Maharashtra from April 27 to May 3.

N.K. Jarag, Director of the Council, initiated the programme with the support of the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay and the University. The objective of the training was to orient the primary school teachers to the updated syllabi and offer training in new areas. Each day of the training programme was earmarked for a subject and the session was handled by a subject expert concerned.

The release said that A-VIEW was available free of cost for education. It was developed by the Amrita E-Learning Research Lab, which offered an M. Tech. degree in e-learning technologies.
