Load shedding resumes

September 08, 2011 10:16 am | Updated 10:16 am IST - COIMBATORE:

The two-hour load shedding every day resumed in several parts of the city on Tuesday.

Though the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) continued to have a two-hour load shedding schedule, the domestic consumers did not have power cut for the last few days, thanks to wind energy generation. The power cut for High Tension consumers was also reduced. However, with a slow down in the wind energy the corporation implemented the load shedding schedule here on Tuesday and Wednesday. Several parts of the city experienced short duration of unscheduled power cuts too during the two days.

The corporation was managing the situation every day depending on wind energy generation. The generation is picking up only after 11 a.m. Hence, there is a shortage in the morning hours.
