The Vadavalli police, who went to the college and inquired about the incident, said that close to 50 students were involved in the act, condemning the decision of the college to transfer three students to another college.
It is learnt that the other students attended classes.
Revenue officials and the police held talks with the agitated students for a few hours, following which the protestors opened the gate and allowed the staff to go out.
“No case was registered in connection with the incident. However, we are monitoring the situation closely as the protestors staged a demonstration on the college premises for the third day on Wednesday.
The college declared indefinite closure from Wednesday,” the police added.
