June 27, 2014 10:34 am | Updated 10:34 am IST - COIMBATORE:

The Coimbatore City Police have registered a case of land grab against Mint Homes and its Managing Director Raj Natarajan, based on a complaint lodged by the Coimbatore Corporation that the open space reserve handed over to it was encroached by the builder.

According to the Corporation, Mint Homes had built a gated community complex at Sowripalayam and earmarked 5350 sq.ft. as open space reserve and handed it over to the Corporation. However, the builder allegedly constructed a club house, swimming pool and a sewage treatment plant here.

Demolition

The Corporation had demolished a part of the illegal structures on July 6, 2013.

Corporation officials said that Assistant Commissioner (East Zone) of the Corporation P.N. Prabhakaran lodged the complaint with City Police Commissioner A.K. Vishwananthan, who directed that a case of land grab be registered.
