Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam (KNMK) and All Community Federation have condemned the arrest of Pattali Makkal Katchi leader S. Ramadoss. At a press meet in Coimbatore on Wednesday, the two organisations led by G.K. Nagaraj, General Secretary of KNMK, had said that the State Government had acted out of political vendetta because Dr. Ramadoss had said that the PMK would work to rule the State in the near future.
What he had said was the aspiration of all political parties in the State and there was nothing illegal about it. The two major Dravidian parties – the AIADMK and DMK- that had ruled the State for over 40 years disliked the growth of other parties, the organisations said.
They wanted the immediate release of Dr. Ramadoss and other PMK office bearers and if the State Government did not oblige, they would be forced to launch peaceful State-wide agitation demanding the same.
If at all the State Government wanted to initiate action against those inciting violence and promoting disharmony, it should act against VCK leader Thirumavalavan because he had been systematically indulging in creating a discord against communities, the organisations said and claimed that they had evidence for the same.
