KJK moves away from PMK to BJP

April 13, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:29 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Kongunadu Jananayaka Katchi (KJK) has joined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and will contest in two seats.

KJK leader G.K. Nagaraj told journalists here on Tuesday that the decision to move away from the Pattali Makkal Katchi and enter the BJP alliance was taken in the last couple of days. “Initially, we held talks with the PMK which insisted that we contest on its symbol. As we are trying to carve an identity for ourself as a party, we could not agree to it,” Mr. Nagaraj said.

The party signed a pact with the BJP to contest from Komarapalayam in Namakkal district and Gobichettipalayam in Erode district where K. Eswaran and Ganapathi would contest respectively.
