Kavundampalayam constituency biggest

In the draft electoral rolls released on October 1, 2013 Kavundampalayam is the biggest constituency with 3,36,840 voters and Valparai is the smallest constituency with 1,73,569 voters. Coimbatore Collector M. Karunagaran released the draft rolls and the first copy was received by District Revenue Officer K. Karpagam and representatives of political parties.

Coimbatore district has 11,95250 male voters and 11,87,008 women voters besides 20 transgender. Mettupalayam has 1,19,858 men and 1,21,057 women voters (two transgender), Sulur (1,19,873 men and 1,19,680 women voters), Kavundampalayam (1,70,528 men voters and 1,66,312 women voters), Coimbatore North (1,26,157 men and 1,22,318 women voters), Thondamuthur (1,24,558 men and 1,22,671 women voters), Coimbatore South (1,06,117 men and 1,05,072 female and four transgender voters), Singanallur (1,26,000 men voters and 1,23,581 women voters and 13 transgender voters), Kinathukkadavu (1,21,230 men and 1,21,105 women voters), Pollachi (95,317 men and 97,256 women voters) and Valparai (85,612 men and 87,956 women voters).

Based on the draft rolls released on October 1, 2013 and prospective voters turning 18-years of age on January 01, 2014 could apply for inclusion, deletion of names and also for changes in electoral rolls such as address change and corrections in particulars.

Forms for the same would be available from October 1 to 31, on all working days at the polling stations, revenue divisional offices and taluk offices from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Special camps will be held at the respective polling stations on October 6, 20 and 27.

The draft photo electoral roll released by Tirupur Collector G. Govindaraj has a total of 17,95,899 voters (9,11,302 men, 8,84,547 women and others-50) in the eight Assembly constituencies in Tirupur district, an increase of 2,488 voters from the last rolls published on January 10.

A glance through the new rolls published on the day reveals that Palladam Assembly constituency has the maximum electorate of 2,70,116 (1,38,606 men, 1,31,507 women and others-3) and Madathukulam Assembly segment holds the least with 1,92,951 voters (96,775 men, 96,175 women and others-1), among all the Assembly constituencies in the district.

The revised electoral rolls pertaining to Udhagamandalam, Gudalur (SC) and Coonoor assembly constituencies were released by the District Election Officer and Nilgiris Collector Archana Patnaik here on Tuesday. Stating that the qualifying date was 1.1.2014, she said that the final rolls will be published on January 6, 2014.

The total number of electors in the draft roll was 5,41,514 including 2,73,900 women and 2,67,614 men.
