IOCL to introduce IDFC Bank micro-ATM facility

Transporters can deposit cash in the retail outlets itself

The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has proposed to introduce IDFC Bank micro-ATM facility in 16 more retail outlets in Salem divisional office area soon.

With this facility, the transporters can deposit cash in their account in the retail outlets itself.

The IDFC Bank micro-ATM facility has already been rolled out in the Sankagiri Lorry Owners’ Association retail out in Sankagiri town.

The new IDFC micro-ATM facility concept was explained to the IOCL dealers at a meeting held in the city recently. V. R. Menon, Chief Manager (fleet marketing), IOCL, Tamil Nadu State Office and T. Palanikumar, Chief Divisional Retail Sales Manager, Salem, spoke.

C. Karuppiah, Deputy General Manager, IDFC Bank, made a detailed presentation on the IDFC micro ATM.

Explaining the salient features of the micro ATM concept, he said that it will pave way for E-KYC based account opening which will bring paperless account opening to the under banked and unbanked areas. The customers can open an account just by linking their Aadhaar number and biometric authentication.

The transporters and drivers can deposit money in their Xtrapower card in the retail outlets itself. At an IDFC Bank micro- ATM, the customers can withdraw from and deposit cash into the bank account of any bank.

Various account servicing requests such as balance enquiry, mini statement, account updation can be done at the IDFAC micro ATM, putting banking services within easy reach of customers. The customers can more easily access direct benefit transfers of government welfare schemes into their accounts through the IDFC Bank micro-ATM in the neighbourhood.

The micro ATM Centres will support all transactions which can be normally conducted at a bank’s regular ATM. The customers can also make various utility payments at the micro ATM centre.

Referring to remittances, he said at the origination ends of remittance corridors, customers can now easily remit money to bank accounts of beneficiaries across the country through the micro ATM, while at the receiving end, beneficiaries can easily access their accounts.

At the end of the meeting, many IOCL dealers made sport enrolment for IDFC micro ATM.
