The reason behind establishing the pre-school wing of The Monarch International School, ‘Little Monarchians International Pre School' is to take international schooling closer to the city's residents, said Mithun Chakraborty, Founder and Chairman.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating the school in Sai Baba Colony in the city on Sunday, the former Bollywood actor said the inauguration of the school would match the city's growing international stature.
“I have always known that Coimbatore was poised for greater heights, as it has everything in it to be like Mumbai or New Delhi. At the same time, the city does not have a very fast-paced life.”
Babita Sharma, Principal, said the pre-school would admit around 20 children between 1.8 years and 5.5 years. “The idea is to provide them international education right from day one of the academic life.” Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Correspondent and Vice-Chairman, said that the school would provide such an atmosphere that children would enjoy learning. “It will be unlike schools that follow other streams of school education.”
International recognition
The actor added, “The children will not be pressurised. And their parents can have the satisfaction of getting their wards educated with international recognition.”
“Until recently, when people say that he or she is from Oxford or Cambridge, there used to be awe factor. The Monarch wants to restore that; provide international education at the local level.”
Ms. Sharma says that students who pass out of the pre-school can continue the international education at the Monarch school either in Thudiyalur or Udhagamandalam.
