The aim of education has undergone many changes. Today, it should enable you to face the basic challenges in life and to identify not only the problems, but also the solutions, T. Kannadasan, Vice-Chancellor (in-charge), Anna University, Coimbatore, said here recently.
Delivering the graduation address of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, he said good education provided youth to get a broad perspective of life in order to help them recognise the challenges faced by the nation. They had to understand that knowledge and innovations held the key to economic development.
“Only 11 per cent of Indian youth are studying in colleges. It is sad to see that the majority 89 per cent remain outside the system. People who are getting education should appreciate it. Never allow anybody to rob you of education because life without it will be meaningless,” Mr. Kannadasan said.
