Innovation conclave held in city

IAMICON 2014 (Indravadan Ambalal Modi Innovation Conclave), on Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences sector was organised in the city recently.

According to a press release, the programme is intended to update doctors on the latest advancements in the field.

Award presented

K.V. Pranav Kumar, a gold medallist from P.S.G. Medical College this year, was conferred ‘Indravadan Ambalal Modi Academic Excellence Award’ during this function. It was presented by the Institute Principal and chief guest of the event S. Ramalingam.

Rajiv Modi, Chairman and Managing Director of Cadila Pharmaceuticals, said that India’s pharmaceuticals sector had made a creditable contribution in providing affordable medicines to patients not only in India but across the globe. “There are bright sparks of innovation in our country, and IAMICON seeks to showcase such events and promote the spirit of Indian innovation”, he said.

The event was held in 50 cities across India between 14-16 and 21-23 of this month with focus on advances in the treating tuberculosis and cardiovascular diseases.
