The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has invited Indian companies to participate in the Water, Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2013 to be held in Dubai from August 15 to 17 next year.
Abdul Syed Abdul Hameed, Deputy Senior Contracts Manager of the authority, told presspersons here on Wednesday that over 1,000 international companies from 31 countries would participate in the 15 edition of the exhibition.
The participants were related to energy, water, environment, smart grid, renewable energy sectors.
The event would have an Indian pavilion. About 10 Indian companies received work orders for two billion dirham and several small companies received orders for another two billion dirham during the last four years. This was just one per cent of the value of projects given by the authority and it could go up to five per cent for the Indian companies.
Renewable energy was a new concept that was catching on. Dubai was also getting a solar power park soon. Solar cell makers, auxiliary equipment manufacturers, and suppliers here had business opportunities in the electricity and water works in Dubai. By participating in the exhibition, the companies would be able to create brand, interact with decision makers and get orders.
Satish Khanna, General Manager of Al Fajer Information and Services, said that Indian companies were becoming reliable now to meet the supply conditions. Hence, more companies could make use of the opportunities available. The EEPC India has been taking a delegation to the exhibition for the last five years. This year, it planned to send a 15-member delegation.
